The Wall (Al-Hujuraat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Believers do not advance before Allah and His Messenger. Fear Allah. Allah is the Hearer, the Knower. 1 O you who believe, do not raise your voices above the voice of the Prophet, and do not speak loudly to him as you do with one another lest your deeds are nullified unconsciously. 2 Verily those who lower their voices in the presence of the apostle of Allah - those are they whose hearts Allah hath disposed unto piety: theirs will be forgiveness and a mighty hire. 3 Indeed, those who call you, [O Muhammad], from behind the chambers - most of them do not use reason. 4 And if they had patience, until thou comest out to them, that would be better for them; and God is All-forgiving, All-compassionate. 5 O ye who believe! If a wicked person comes to you with any news, ascertain the truth, lest ye harm people unwittingly, and afterwards become full of repentance for what ye have done. 6 And know that among you is the Messenger of Allah. If he were to obey you in much of the matter, you would be in difficulty, but Allah has endeared to you the faith and has made it pleasing in your hearts and has made hateful to you disbelief, defiance and disobedience. Those are the [rightly] guided. 7 (It is) a bounty and a grace from Allah; and Allah is Knower, Wise. 8 And if two parties of the believers quarrel, make peace between them; but if one of them acts wrongfully towards the other, fight that which acts wrongfully until it returns to Allah's command; then if it returns, make peace between them with justice and act equitably; surely Allah loves those who act equitably. 9 The believers indeed are brothers; so set things right between your two brothers, and fear God; haply so you will find mercy. 10
