Have you heard the story of the honorable guests of Abraham? 24 Behold, they entered his presence, and said: "Peace!" He said, "Peace!" (and thought, "These seem) unusual people." 25 Then he turned away privately unto his household, and brought a calf fatted. 26 And he set it before them, saying: Will ye not eat? 27 beginning to be afraid of them. But they said, "Don't be afraid"; and they gave him the good news of a son who would be endowed with knowledge. 28 Then his wife came up in great grief, and she struck her face and said: An old barren woman! 29 They said: Thus says your Lord: Surely He is the Wise, the Knowing. 30 ۞ He said: What is your affair then, O apostles! 31 They replied: “Behold, we have been sent to a wicked people 32 that we may unleash a shower of clay-stones 33 marked by your Lord for the sinful' 34 So We brought forth such believers as were in it, 35 But did not find more than a single family of believers. 36 We left a sign in this for those who fear the grievous punishment, 37 And in Musa: When We sent him to Firon with clear authority. 38 But he turned his back, he and his courtiers, and said, "This is a sorcerer or a madman." 39 We seized him and his army and threw them into the sea. He himself was to be blamed. 40 And in 'Ad (there is also a sign) when We sent against them the barren wind; 41 It left not aught whereon it came but it made it as matter decayed. 42 And in Thamud's also was a lesson, when it was said unto them: enjoy yourselves for a season. 43 Then they disdained the command of their Lord; wherefore the bolt laid hold of them even while they looked on. 44 Then they were unable to rise up, nor could they help themselves. 45 And the people of Nuh We destroyed aforetime; verily they were a people transgressing. 46
