The Moon (Al-Qamar)
55 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Comet (Al-Taareq) before S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
THE LAST HOUR draws near, and the moon is split asunder! 1 And if they behold a portent they turn away and say: Prolonged illusion. 2 They have rejected it and have followed their own desires, but all matters will be settled (by God). 3 Messages deterring them from evil had come to them, 4 Perfect wisdom (this Quran), but (the preaching of) warners benefit them not, 5 Therefore, turn away from them. On the Day when the Caller summons them to a terrible thing, 6 with down-cast eyes they shall go forth from their graves, as though they were scattered locusts. 7 running with outstretched necks to the Caller. The unbelievers shall say, 'This is a hard day!' 8 ۞ The people of Noah, who lived before them, had also rejected (Our guidance). They rejected Our servant and said, "He is an insane person so let us drive him away". 9 So he cried unto his Lord, saying: I am vanquished, so give help. 10 We opened the Gates of Heaven with torrential water 11 And We opened up the springs of the earth; and the waters met for a decreed end. 12 We carried him, (Noah), on a vessel built with boards fixed together with nails, 13 Moving forward under Our eyes: a requital for him who had been rejected. 14 And assuredly We left it for a sign. Is there then anyone who would be admonished? 15 How (great) was then My punishment and My warning! 16 Now We have made the Koran easy for Remembrance. Is there any that will remember? 17 Ad cried lies. How then were My chastisement and My warnings? 18 Verily We! We sent against them a raging wind on a day of calamity continuous. 19 Tearing men away as if they were the trunks of palm-trees torn up. 20 for, how severe is the suffering which I inflict when My warnings are disregarded! 21 And certainly We have made the Quran easy for remembrance, but is there anyone who will mind? 22

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
