A multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the first generation (who embraced Islam). 39 And a multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the later times (generations). 40 The Companions of the Left (O Companions of the Left!) 41 (They will be) in the midst of a Fierce Blast of Fire and in Boiling Water, 42 And in the shades of Black Smoke: 43 neither cool nor good. 44 Verily they have been heretofore affluent. 45 And used to persist in the awful sin. 46 and constantly said: 'What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we then be restored to life? 47 (We) and our fore-fathers of yore?” 48 Say: "Verily, those of olden times and those of later times 49 shall be gathered together to the appointed time on a known Day' 50 and then, verily, O you who have gone astray and called the truth a lie, 51 Will eat of the tree of Zaqqum, 52 Fill your bellies with it, 53 Then drink over it of boiling water; 54 Drinking the way thirsty camels drink. 55 This is their reception on the Day of Justice. 56 It is We who have created you. Why then did you not testify to the Truth? 57 So what is your opinion regarding the semen you discharge? 58 Is it you who create it - or are We the source of its creation? 59 We have [indeed] decreed that death shall be [ever-present] among you: but there is nothing to prevent Us 60 in replacing you with another creation like you, changing you into a form which you do not know. 61 And you have already known the first creation, so will you not remember? 62 Have ye seen that which ye cultivate? 63 Is it you or We Who make them grow? 64 If We will, We would make it broken stubble and you would remain wondering, 65 crying, "We have been left to suffer loss. 66 Rather, we have been deprived." 67 Did you cast a good look at the water that you drink? 68 Is it you who sent it down from the clouds or is it We who have sent it down? 69 If We pleased, We would have made it salty; why do you not then give thanks? 70 Have you considered the fire you kindle? 71 Is it you who produced its tree, or are We the producer? 72 It is We who have made it a means to remind [you of Us,] and a comfort for all who are lost and hungry in the wilderness [of their lives]. 73 So glorify the name of your Lord, the Supreme. 74
