Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Reality - 1 What is the Reality? 2 What makes you to know what the Resurrection Verifier is? 3 Thamood and Aad belied the Clatterer. 4 Thamood, they were destroyed by the violent shout (of Gabriel), 5 And the 'Ad were destroyed by the furious cold blast of roaring wind 6 Which Allah imposed upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so you would see the people therein fallen as if they were hollow trunks of palm trees. 7 So do you see any survivor among them? 8 And there was Pharaoh, too, and [many of] those who lived before him, and the cities that were overthrown - [all of them] indulged in sin upon sin 9 And they disobeyed the Apostle of their Lord, so He punished them with a vehement punishment. 10 Indeed when the water swelled up, We boarded you onto the ship. 11 so that We might make it an instructive event for you, and retentive ears might preserve its memory. 12 Then, when one blast is sounded on the Trumpet, 13 and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and then crushed with a single blow, 14 on that Day the Great Event will come to pass. 15 and the heavens will be rent asunder, 16 and the angels [will appear] at its ends, and above them, eight will bear aloft on that Day the throne of thy Sustainer's almightiness… 17 On that Day you shall be exposed, and no secret of yours will remain hidden. 18 Then, he who is given his book in his right hand will say: 'Here, take and read my book! 19 “I was certain that I will confront my account.” 20 So he shall be in a pleasing life 21 In an elevated garden, 22 the clusters of whose fruit will be hanging low to be within reach (of the inmates of Paradise). 23 Eat and drink with benefit for that which ye sent on beforehand in days past. 24 As for him whose Record will be given to him in his left hand, he will exclaim: “Would that I had never been given my Record, 25 and knew nothing of my reckoning. 26 I wish my death had been the decisive one. 27 My wealth hath not availed me, 28 My power hath gone from me. 29 Lay hold on him, then put a chain on him, 30 and then roast him in Hell, 31 Then into a chain whose length is seventy cubits insert him." 32 He did not believe in God the supreme, 33 nor did he urge the feeding of the needy. 34 and so, no friend has here today, 35 Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds; 36 Which none but the wrongdoers eat. 37
