Nay! By the moon 32 Consider the night when it departs, 33 And [by] the morning when it brightens, 34 surely it is one of the greatest things 35 A warning to mankind,- 36 alike to every one of you, who want to go forward or hang back. 37 Every person is a pledge for what he has earned, 38 save the Companions of the Right; 39 In Gardens, they seek answers, 40 of those who were lost in sin: 41 'What thrusted you into Sakar?' 42 They will answer: "We did not fulfil our devotional obligations, 43 And did not feed the needy, 44 We plunged in with the plungers 45 And we used to call the day of judgment a lie; 46 until the inevitable event overtook us.” 47 Then will no intercession of (any) intercessors profit them. 48 What is then the matter with them, that they turn away from the admonition 49 As though they were frightened asses 50 Fleeing from a hunter, or a lion, or a beast of prey. 51 No indeed; each one of them desires that open letters be sent to each of them. 52 No, indeed they have no fear of the Everlasting Life. 53 No, indeed, surely, this is a Reminder. 54 So whosoever will may heed. 55 And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness. 56
