Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer). 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 unto thy Lord that Day is the recourse. 12 On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward (of his evil or good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions). 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 Surely on Us (devolves) the collecting of it and the reciting of it. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 And neglect the hereafter. 21 Some faces will be radiant on that Day, 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 Knowing that there will be made to befall them some great calamity. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 And it is asked: "Is there any reciter of charms and amulets?" 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 when his legs are brought together [when affliction is combined with affliction]; 29 To your Lord on that day shall be the driving. 30
