Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 And those that strike violently, 2 and by the scatterers scattering (rain) 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 And those [angels] who deliver a message 5 To excuse or to warn, 6 Surely that which ye are promised will befall. 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 Heavens will rent asunder. 9 And when the mountains are made into dust and blown away. 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 15 Did We not destroy the ancients 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 The which We placed in a place of rest, firmly fixed, 21 For a known term? 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 the living and the dead? 26 place on it high mountains and provide you with fresh water? 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze. 31 Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, 32 As though they were camels yellow tawny. 33 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 nor shall they be given permission, so that they can apologize. 36 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 37 That is the Day of Judgement on which We have assembled you as well as all those who went before you. 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
