The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ OF WHAT ARE they asking one another? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 Concerning which they are in disagreement. 3 Surely yes, they will soon come to know! 4 They will indeed come to know soon. 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse. 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And (have We not) created you in pairs, 8 And made sleep for you to rest, 9 And have made the night as a covering (through its darkness), 10 And have appointed the day for livelihood. 11 And We built above you seven strong ones, 12 And We made a shining lamp, 13 From the rain clouds We send waters pouring down in abundance, 14 that We may bring forth thereby grain and plants, 15 and luxuriant gardens. 16 Indeed the Day of Decision is a time fixed. 17 On that Day when the trumpet shall be sounded, you shall come in droves, 18 And the heavens shall be opened as if there were doors, 19 and the mountains are set in motion, and become a vapour. 20 Certainly Hell lies in wait, 21 For the transgressors, a place of return, 22 They will tarry therein for ages. 23 they shall taste in it no coolness, nor any pleasant drink 24 Except boiling water, and dirty wound discharges. 25 a befitting recompense for their deeds. 26 Surely they feared not the account, 27 and they cried loud lies to Our signs; 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 So taste (the fruit of your deeds). We shall only increase your torment. 30
