The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Of what do they question one another? 1 About the great news - 2 whereupon they are at variance? 3 Nay! they shall soon come to know 4 Nay, again, they will come to know! 5 Did We not make the earth a bed? 6 And the high hills bulwarks? 7 We created you in pairs, 8 and We appointed your sleep for a rest; 9 And We have made the night a covering. 10 And made the day for livelihood 11 And We have builded over you seven strong heavens. 12 and We appointed a blazing lamp 13 And We have sent down from the rain-clouds water plenteous. 14 so that We may thereby bring forth grain and vegetation, 15 And dense gardens. 16 Verily, the Day of Decision is a fixed time, 17 The day when the Trumpet will be blown – you will therefore come forth in multitudes. 18 And the heaven is opened and becometh as gates, 19 And the mountains will have been removed away, and they will have become as mirage. 20 Lo! hell lurketh in ambush, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 They will tarry therein for ages. 23 They will not taste therein cool or any drink. 24 only burning despair and ice-cold darkness: 25 , A fitting reward. 26 They were those who did not expect a reckoning, 27 and they absolutely belied Our verses, 28 Everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 So taste (the fruit of your deeds). We shall only increase your torment. 30
