The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 and gathered his people together 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
