The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
