The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 By the angels hastening, 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
