He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ HE FROWNED and turned away 1 Because there came to him the blind man (interrupting). 2 You never know. Perhaps he wanted to purify himself, 3 or take heed and derive benefit from [Our] warning? 4 As to one who regards Himself as self-sufficient, 5 To him dost thou attend; 6 And no blame is on you if he would not purify himself 7 But he who comes to you running, 8 And he feareth 9 You neglect. 10 No indeed, this is a Reminder; 11 and whosoever wills, shall remember it. 12 (It is) in Records held (greatly) in honour (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz). 13 lofty and pure, 14 (Written) by the hands of scribes- 15 Noble and righteous. 16 Perish Man! How unthankful he is! 17 Out of what did Allah create him? 18 Of a drop of seed. He created him and formed him according to a measure. 19 then eased his path for him, 20 and in the end He causes him to die and brings him to the grave; 21 Then, when it is His Will, He will raise him up (again). 22 Nay, but (man) has not done what He commanded him. 23 Then let man look at his food, 24 How We poured down water in torrents, 25 And We split the earth in fragments, 26 and thereupon We cause grain to grow out of it, 27 grapes, and fresh fodder, 28 and olive trees and date-palms, 29 the densely tree'd gardens, 30 and fruits, and pastures, 31 (These are made so as to be) means of enjoyment for you and your cattle. 32 But when the deafening cry comes, 33 on that Day a man shall flee from his own brother, 34 and his mother and his father; 35 his wife and his children. 36 For every man, that Day, will be a matter adequate for him. 37 Faces on that Day shall be beaming, 38 Laughing and full of joy, 39 And faces on that Day! upon them shall be gloom. 40 Blackness will cover them. 41 Such will be the Rejecters of Allah, the doers of iniquity. 42
