Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Ha Mim 1 [This is] a revelation from the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful - 2 A Book, whereof the verses are explained in detail;- a Qur'an in Arabic, for people who understand;- 3 A bearer of glad tidings and a warner. Yet most of them turn aside, so that they hearken not. 4 And they say, "Our hearts are within coverings from that to which you invite us, and in our ears is deafness, and between us and you is a partition, so work; indeed, we are working." 5 Say thou: I am only a human being like unto you; only it is revealed unto me that your God is but One God, wherefore take the straight path unto Him and seek forgiveness of Him. And woe be unto the associators. 6 Those who do not give zakah, and in the Hereafter they are disbelievers. 7 (As for) those who believe and do good, they shall surely have a reward never to be cut off. 8
