He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and then turned away 1 Because the blind man came unto him. 2 But what could tell thee but that perchance he might grow (in spiritual understanding)?- 3 or take heed and derive benefit from [Our] warning? 4 As for him who regardeth himself self-sufficient 5 You pay full attention, 6 although thou art not accountable for his failure to attain to purity; 7 And for him who came to you striving, 8 And is afraid (of Allah and His Punishment), 9 Of him you are neglectful and divert your attention to another, 10 Nay, (do not do like this), indeed it (these Verses of this Quran) are an admonition, 11 and so, whoever is willing may remember Him 12 On honoured leaves 13 exalted and purified, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 noble and most virtuous. 16 May (the disbelieving) human being be condemned! What makes him disbelieve? 17 From what stuff hath He created him? 18 From a sperm-drop He created him and destined for him; 19 Then He makes the Path easy for him; 20 Then He caused him to die and be buried 21 then, when He wills, He raises him. 22 Nay, but man did not fulfil what Allah had enjoined upon him. 23 So let man just consider his food: 24 We let the rain pour down in torrents 25 And We split the earth in clefts, 26 Then We cause therein the grain to grow, 27 And grapes and fodder, 28 And olive-trees and palm-trees 29 and dense orchards, 30 and fruits and fodder 31 (To be) a provision and benefit for you and your cattle. 32 And when the Blast shall sound, 33 On that day man will run away from his brother. 34 And from his mother and father, 35 his consort, his sons, 36 every man that day shall have business to suffice him. 37 on that Day some faces will be beaming, 38 laughing, and rejoicing, 39 And (many) faces on that day, on them shall be dust, 40 and veiled with darkness. 41 Such will be the Rejecters of Allah, the doers of iniquity. 42
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
