The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
36 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Spider (Al-Ankaboot) before The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
WOE UNTO THOSE who give short measure: 1 those who demand a full measure from others 2 but who, when they measure or weigh for others, give less than their due. 3 Do they not think that they will be called to account?- 4 on a Great Day, 5 The Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)? 6 No indeed; the Book of the libertines is in Sijjin; 7 Ah! what will convey unto thee what Sijjin is! - 8 It is a written book. 9 Ah the woe that day for those who deny, 10 Who call the Day of judgement a lie! 11 and none cries lies to it but every guilty aggressor. 12 [and so,] whenever Our messages are conveyed to them, they but say: "Fables of ancient times!" 13 Nay, but their hearts are corroded by all [the evil] that they were wont to do! 14 On the Day of Judgment, they will certainly be barred from the mercy of their Lord. 15 then they shall roast in Hell. 16 Further, it will be said to them: "This is the (reality) which ye rejected as false! 17 No indeed! Verily, the deeds of the virtuous shall be in the record of the exalted ones. 18 And what will make thee know whatsoever the record in Illiyun is? 19 a written record, 20 To which bear witness those nearest (to Allah, i.e. the angels). 21 Verily the virtuous shall be in Bliss; 22 On adorned couches, observing. 23 upon their faces thou wilt see the brightness of bliss. 24 They are made to quaff of a pure drink that is sealed (to others). 25 whose seal is musk -- so after that let the strivers strive -- 26 for it is composed of all that is most exalting 27 A spring from which those near [to Allah] drink. 28 The sinners indeed laughed at believers 29 When passing by them, they would wink at one another 30 and when they returned to their people they returned blithely, 31 And when they saw them, they said: verily these are the strayed ones. 32 Whereas they were not sent over them as watchers. 33 so today those who believe shall [be able to] laugh at those who denied the truth 34 Regarding them from their cushioned seats. 35 Surely the disbelievers are rewarded as they did. 36
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
