The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the sky containing great stars 1 and by the promised Day, 2 And the witness and the witnessed, 3 slain were the Men of the Pit, 4 Of the fire (kept burning) with fuel, 5 Behold! they sat over against the (fire), 6 to watch what they were doing to the believers, 7 And they ill-treated them for no other reason than that they believed in Allah, Exalted in Power, Worthy of all Praise!- 8 To Him only belongs the kingship of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is a Witness over all things. 9 Those who persecute the believing men and believing women, and then do not repent, will surely suffer the punishment of Hell, and the torment of burning. 10 Lo! those who believe and do good works, theirs will be Gardens underneath which rivers flow. That is the Great Success. 11 The grip of your Lord is severe indeed! 12 It is verily He who initiates and repeats. 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Affectionate, 14 The Lord of the glorious Throne, 15 Doer of what He will. 16 Has not there come to you the story of the hosts, 17 Of Pharaoh and Thamud come to you? 18 Yet those who deny the truth persist in denial. 19 although Allah surrounds them. 20 In fact it (what they deny) is the Noble Qur’an. 21 (Inscribed) in a Tablet Preserved! 22
