The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
I swear by the night when it draws a veil, 1 And [by] the day when it appears 2 And by Who created the male and female, 3 O men, you truly strive towards the most diverse ends! 4 For him that gives and fears (Allah) 5 and believes in the truth of the ultimate good 6 We will make smooth for him the path of ease (goodness). 7 But as for one who is miserly and unheeding, 8 And rejects goodness, 9 We will ease him toward difficulty. 10 And what will his wealth benefit him when he goes down (in destruction). 11 Indeed guiding is upon Us. 12 and to Us belong the Last and the First. 13 I have now warned you of a Blazing Fire, 14 whereat none but the most wretched shall be roasted, 15 Who had denied and turned away. 16 But save him who fears 17 [He] who gives [from] his wealth to purify himself 18 And no one has done a favour to him, for which he should be compensated. 19 Except as seeking (to fulfil) the purpose of his Lord Most High. 20 And he is going to be satisfied. 21

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
