In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Read (Prophet Muhammad) in the Name of your Lord who created, 1 Created man from a clot. 2 Read, and your Lord only is the Most Beneficent, 3 who, by the pen, taught the human being: 4 Taught man what he did not know. 5 Nay! Verily, man does transgress all bounds (in disbelief and evil deed, etc.). 6 For he thinks he is sufficient in himself. 7 Indeed towards your Lord only is the return. 8 Have you seen the one who forbids 9 A bondman of Ours when he prayeth 10 Have you seen if he was upon guidance 11 or orders piety? 12 Hast thou considered whether he may [not] be giving the lie to the truth and turning his back [upon it]? 13 Does he not know that Allah sees? 14 Nay, but if he cease not We will seize him by the forelock - 15 A lying, sinning forelock. 16 So, let him call upon his way! 17 We will call on the angels of punishment (to deal with him)! 18 Nay, Obey not thou him. But prostrate thyself, and draw near (unto Allah). ۩ 19
