The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Read! In the Name of your Lord, Who has created (all that exists), 1 created man from a clot of congealed blood. 2 Read, for your Lord is most beneficent, 3 who has taught [man] the use of the pen 4 Hath taught man that which he knew not. 5 Despite this, the human being still tends to rebel 6 Because he sees himself free from want. 7 Lo! unto thy Lord is the return. 8 Did you see him who forbids 9 a worshipper from praying? 10 Have you seen if he is upon guidance 11 and enjoins piety? 12 Bethinkest thou, if he belieth and turneth away? 13 Did he not realise that Allah is watching? 14 Indeed, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock, 15 his lying sinful forelock. 16 So let him now call his gang! 17 We will call on the angels of punishment (to deal with him)! 18 Beware! Do not obey him, but bow in adoration and draw near (to your Lord). ۩ 19
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
