Did the news of Ibrahim’s honourable guests reach you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him)? 24 When they came to him saying, "Peace be with you," he replied to their greeting in the same manner and said to himself, "These are a strange people". 25 Then he turned quietly to his household, and brought forth a fat [roasted] calf, 26 And placing it before them said: "Won't you eat?" 27 He felt afraid of them; but they said: "Have no fear," and gave him the good news of a wise son. 28 But his wife came forward (laughing) aloud: she smote her forehead and said: "A barren old woman!" 29 They said: even so saith thine Lord. Verily He! He is the Wise, the Knower. 30 ۞ (Abraham) said: "And what, O ye Messengers, is your errand (now)?" 31 They said: Lo! we are sent unto a guilty folk, 32 To send down upon them stones of baked clay. 33 marked with thy Lord for the prodigal. 34 Then We evacuated there from all the believers 35 but We found only one Muslim house. 36 And We left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment. 37 And in Musa also was a lesson, when We sent him unto Fir'awn with authority manifest. 38 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] turned away (from Belief in might) along with his hosts, and said: "A sorcerer, or a madman." 39 We seized him and his army and threw them into the sea. He himself was to be blamed. 40 And [you have the same message] in [what happened to the tribe of] Ad, when We let loose against them that life-destroying wind 41 Which turned everything it touched to ashes. 42 And in (the tribe of) Thamud (there is a portent) when it was told them: Take your ease awhile. 43 But they disobeyed the command of their Lord; so they were destroyed by a thunderbolt, and they could only gape, 44 So they were not able to stand, nor could they help themselves. 45 And before them the nation of Noah, indeed they were a debauched nation. 46
