And the people of the Hijr (rocks) denied the Noble Messengers. 80 We also gave them Our Signs, yet they turned away from them. 81 They were hewing the mountains into houses, therein dwelling securely; 82 An explosion struck them in the morning. 83 All that they had acquired was of no avail to them. 84 We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is between them save with truth, and lo! the Hour is surely coming. So forgive, (O Muhammad), with a gracious forgiveness. 85 Lo! Thy Lord! He is the All-Wise Creator. 86 And We have certainly given you, [O Muhammad], seven of the often repeated [verses] and the great Qur'an. 87 Do not yearn for other people's property and wives and do not grieve (that they do not believe). Be kind to the believers. 88 And proclaim, “Indeed I, yes I, am the clear Herald of Warning.” 89 [For, thou art the bearer of a divine writ] such as We have bestowed from on high upon those who [afterwards] broke it up into parts, 90 Those who have made the scripture bits. 91 Now by thy Lord, We shall surely question them all together 92 For all that they used to do. 93 (O Prophet), proclaim what you are commanded, and pay no heed to those who associate others with Allah in His Divinity. 94 We shall help you against those who mock you 95 Who set up along with Allah another god; presently they shall know. 96 We do indeed know how your heart is distressed at what they say. 97 But glorify your Lord with His praise, and prostrate yourself: 98 And keep worshipping your Lord, till death* comes to you. (* The certainty.) 99
