The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Woe to every slanderer, defamer, 1 Who amasses wealth and considers it a provision (against mishap); 2 Thinking that his wealth would make him last for ever! 3 Nay! he shall most certainly be hurled into the crushing disaster, 4 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Consuming One is! 5 It is the fire of Allah, [eternally] fueled, 6 which shall oversee the hearts, 7 closed around them 8 In outstretched columns. 9

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
