We have given you various facts (about the Truth in this Quran) so that they (unbelievers) would take heed, but this has only increased their aversion (to the truth). 41 Say: 'If there had been other gods with Him, as they say, in that case assuredly they would have sought a way unto the Lord of the Throne.' Glory be to Him! 42 Exalted is He and high above what they say by great sublimity. 43 The seven heavens extol His limitless glory, and the earth, and all that they contain; and there is not a single thing but extols His limitless glory and praise: but you [O men] fail to grasp the manner of their glorifying Him! Verily, He is forbearing, much-forgiving! 44 And when thou recitest the Qur'an, We set up between thee and those who believe not in the Hereafter a curtain drawn down. 45 And We have placed over their hearts coverings, lest they understand it, and in their ears deafness. And when you mention your Lord alone in the Qur'an, they turn back in aversion. 46 When they listen to you, We know very well how they listen. When they conspire, when the evildoers declare: 'You are only following a man who is bewitched' 47 See, what comparisons they coin for you, and go astray, and thus cannot find the way. 48 And they say, “When we have become bones and decomposed, will we really be raised up anew?” 49 Say: 'Let you be stones or iron, 50 ۞ or some creation yet more monstrous in your minds!' Then they will say, 'Who will bring us back?' Say: 'He who originated you the first time.' Then they will shake their heads at thee, and they will say, 'When will it be?' Say: 'It is possible that it may be nigh, 51 On the Day He will call you and you will respond with praise of Him and think that you had not remained [in the world] except for a little." 52
