The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Praise be to God. He has sent the Book to His servant and has made it a flawless guide (for human beings) 1 Rightly directing, that he might give warning of severe punishment from Him and give good news to the believers who do good that they shall have a goodly reward, 2 Staying in it for ever; 3 And that it may warn those who say: "God has begotten a son." 4 No knowledge thereof have they, nor had their fathers. Odious is the word that cometh out of their mouths; they say not but a lie. 5 Possibly you may risk your life by grieving (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) for them if they do not believe in this narration. 6 Verily! We have made that which is on earth as an adornment for it, in order that We may test them (mankind) as to which of them are best in deeds. [i.e. those who do good deeds in the most perfect manner, that means to do them (deeds) totally for Allah's sake and in accordance to the legal ways of the Prophet SAW]. 7 but We shall reduce all this to barren waste. 8 Do you think that the people of the Cave and the Inscription were one of Our wondrous signs? 9 When the youths sought refuge in the Cave, they said: 'Lord give us from Your Mercy and furnish us with rectitude in our affair' 10 Then We caused them to fall into a deep sleep for many years inside the cave. 11 Then We roused them, in order to test which of the two parties was best at calculating the term of years they had tarried! 12
