And remember Ibrahim in the Book; he was very truthful, a Herald of the Hidden (a Prophet). 41 He said to his father: 'O father, why worship that which can neither see nor hear, nor helps you in anything? 42 O My father! verily there hath come to me of the knowledge which hath not come unto thee; so follow me, and I shall guide thee to a path even. 43 O my father! serve not the Shaitan, surely the Shaitan is disobedient to the Beneficent Allah: 44 O my father! I dread lest a chastisement from the Most Gracious befall thee, and then thou wilt become [aware of having been] close unto Satan!" 45 He (the father) said: "Do you reject my gods, O Ibrahim (Abraham)? If you stop not (this), I will indeed stone you. So get away from me safely before I punish you." 46 Ibrahim said: peace be on thee! anon I shall ask forgiveness of my Lord for thee; verily He is unto me ever so solicitous. 47 "And I will turn away from you (all) and from those whom ye invoke besides Allah: I will call on my Lord: perhaps, by my prayer to my Lord, I shall be not unblest." 48 So when he turned away from them and those they worshipped, other than Allah, We gave him Isaac and Jacob. Each of them We made a Prophet, 49 And bestowed on them some of Our blessings, and gave them high renown. 50
