And when your Lord called to Moses, saying: 'Go to the harmdoing nation, 10 The people of Fir'aun (Pharaoh). Will they not fear Allah and become righteous?" 11 He said: my Lord! verily I fear they shall belie me. 12 and my chest will become constricted and my tongue will not be loosed (in my speech), therefore, send to Aaron. 13 And they have a crime against me, therefore I fear that they may slay me. 14 God said, "Indeed not; go both of you with Our signs, We shall be with you, listening [to your call]. 15 "And when you both come to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), say: 'We are the Messengers of the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists), 16 so send forth with us the Children of Israel." 17 (Pharaoh) said (unto Moses): Did we not rear thee among us as a child? And thou didst dwell many years of thy life among us, 18 And yet thou didst commit that [heinous] deed of thine, and [hast thus shown that] thou art one of the ingrate!" 19 Replied [Moses]: "I committed it while I was still going astray; 20 Then I ran away from you in fear, but my Lord granted me the law and has appointed me as a Messenger. 21 "And this is the past favour with which you reproach me, that you have enslaved the Children of Israel." 22 The Pharaoh asked: "And what is the Lord of all the worlds?" 23 Moses said, "Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if only you would be convinced." 24 (Pharaoh) said to those around: "Did ye not listen (to what he says)?" 25 [And Moses] continued: "[He is] your Sustainer, [too,] as well as the Sustainer of your forefathers of old!" 26 (The Pharaoh) said (to his nobles): "Your apostle who has been sent to you, is certainly mad." 27 Musa (Moses) said: "Lord of the east and the west, and all that is between them, if you did but understand!" 28 (Pharaoh) said: If thou choosest a god other than me, I assuredly shall place thee among the prisoners. 29 (Moses) said: "Even though I have brought to you something convincing?" 30 Pharaoh said: "Then bring it if you are truthful at all." 31 So [Moses] threw his staff, and suddenly it was a serpent manifest. 32 And he drew forth his hand, and lo, it looked white to the beholders. 33
