The folk of Lot denied the messengers (of Allah), 160 When their brother Lout (Lot) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah and obey Him? 161 I am a trustworthy messenger to you: 162 So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. 163 And I do not ask you any reward for it; my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds; 164 Do you, in the world, want to have carnal relations with males 165 And leave the wives your Lord created for you? Nay, but ye are froward folk. 166 They said, "If you do not desist, Lot, you will surely be banished." 167 He said, “I am disgusted with your works.” 168 My Lord, save me and my family from their evil doings." 169 We saved him and all of his family 170 except an old woman who stayed behind, 171 Thereafter We annihilated the rest. 172 and rained down upon them a rain [of destruction]: and dire is such rain upon all who let themselves be warned [to no avail]! 173 Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers. 174 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 175
