Hizb 46
< random >
AND, BEHOLD, Jonah was indeed one of Our message-bearers 139 He fled to the overloaded ship. 140 He (agreed to) cast lots, and he was among the losers, 141 Then the big Fish did swallow him, and he had done acts worthy of blame. 142 Had it not been that he (repented and) glorified Allah, 143 He would have stayed in its belly till the day the dead are raised. 144 ۞ But We threw him onto the open shore while he was ill. 145 And We made a gourd tree grow over him. 146 We sent him to a hundred thousand men or more, 147 and they believed, and We gave them enjoyment for awhile. 148 (Muhammad), ask them, "Do daughters belong to your Lord and sons to them? 149 Did We create the angels as females the while they witnessed?” 150 No indeed! It is one of their fabrications when they say: 151 "Allah has begotten children"? but they are liars! 152 Has He chosen daughters in preference to sons? 153 What is the matter with you, how is it that you judge? 154 Why do you not reflect? 155 Or have you clear evidence? 156 Bring your Book, if you speak truly! 157 And they have invented a blood-relationship between Him and the Jinns: but the Jinns know (quite well) that they have indeed to appear (before his Judgment-Seat)! 158 Glory to Allah! (He is free) from the things they ascribe (to Him)! 159 except the servants of God, sincere and devoted. 160 neither you nor what you worship 161 shall not be able to tempt anyone away from Allah 162 Save him Who is to roast in the Flaming Fire. 163 The angels say, "Each of us has an appointed place. 164 Verily we range ourselves in rows (as humble servants) 165 And verily we! we hallow. 166 They used to say before: 167 Had we but an admonition as had the ancients. 168 “We would certainly be the chosen bondmen of Allah.” 169 But when it came to them, they rejected it. They shall soon come to know (the end of such an attitude). 170 We decreed that Our Messenger servants 171 that they shall receive Our help 172 and that Our army will be triumphant. 173 (Muhammad), stay away from them for a while 174 Watch them: they will soon see. 175 What, do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 176 When it comes down on their plains, it will be an evil dawn for those who had been warned. 177 So turn (away) from them for a while, 178 And (then) see, for they too shall see. 179 Purity is to your Lord, the Lord of Honour, from all what they say. 180 Peace be upon the Messengers 181 And Praise to Allah, the Lord and Cherisher of the Worlds. 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
