Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the winds which carry dust particles, 1 Then those clouds bearing the load (of minute things in space). 2 and those speeding along with ease, 3 and execute the great task of apportioning (rainfall): 4 indeed, that which you are promised is true, 5 And verily the Requital is surely to befall. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 Verily, [O men,] you are deeply at variance as to what to believe: 8 Let whoever wishes, turn away from Our Quran. 9 Woe to the falsehood-mongers,- 10 who flounder in the depths of ignorance. 11 They ask: When is the day of judgment? 12 Upon the day when they shall be tried at the Fire: 13 (And it will be said unto them): Taste your torment (which ye inflicted). This is what ye sought to hasten. 14 The righteous shall live among gardens and fountains, 15 They shall receive what their Lord will bestow on them. They have done good works in the past, 16 They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night, 17 and would pray for forgiveness from their innermost hearts; 18 and [would assign] in all that they possessed a due share unto such as might ask [for help] and such as might suffer privation. 19 AND ON EARTH there are signs [of God's existence, visible] to all who are endowed with inner certainty, 20 And in your own selves; so can you not perceive? 21 In the sky is your provision and that which you are promised. 22 for, by the Sustainer of heaven and earth, this [life after death] is the very truth - as true as that you are endowed with speech! 23
