Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the winds which scatter dust, 1 and the burden-bearers 2 Then by oath of those which move with ease. 3 And those who distribute (it) by command, 4 What you are promised is certainly true: 5 And verily Judgment and Justice must indeed come to pass. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 Verily, [O men,] you are deeply at variance as to what to believe: 8 He is turned away from it who would be turned away. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 Who are within a flood [of confusion] and heedless. 11 They ask: When is the day of judgment? 12 The day they will be burnt in the Fire, 13 Taste your burning: this is that which ye sought to be hastened. 14 As for the God-fearing, they shall be in the midst of gardens and fountains, 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord has given them. Verily, they were before this Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 16 they used to sleep but little by night, 17 and in the mornings they would ask for forgiveness; 18 And in their substance was the right of the beggar and non-beggar. 19 There are many Signs on earth for those of sure faith, 20 And in yourselves. Then will you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and that which ye are promised. 22 for, by the Sustainer of heaven and earth, this [life after death] is the very truth - as true as that you are endowed with speech! 23
