Hast thou received the story of the honoured guests of Abraham? 24 When they came to him and said, “Peace”; he answered, “Peace”; and thought, “These people are not familiar.” 25 So he hurried to the house and brought a fatted calf, 26 So he brought it near them. He said: What! will you not eat? 27 Then he conceived a fear of them. They said, 'Be not afraid!' And they gave him good tidings of a cunning boy. 28 So hearing his wife went forth shouting. She struck her face and exclaimed: “A barren old woman am I.” 29 They said, "This is true but your Lord has said, (that you will have a son); He is All-wise and All-knowing". 30 ۞ Said Ibrahim, “What is your task, O the sent angels?” 31 They said: verily we are sent unto a people, guilty. 32 So as to let loose clods of clay on them 33 Marked by thy Lord for (the destruction of) the wanton. 34 Thus We brought forth from therein who were believers. 35 But did not find more than a single family of believers. 36 And We left behind therein a portent for those who fear a painful doom. 37 And also in Moses, when We sent him unto Pharaoh, with a clear authority, 38 The Pharaoh and his forces turned away from him, saying, "He is either a magician or an insane person". 39 So We seized him and his armies, and threw them into the sea, for he was worthy of blame. 40 And in Aad. We let loose on them a withering wind 41 which spared nothing of what it came upon, but caused [all of] it to become like bones dead and decayed. 42 There is also a Sign for you in (the story of) Thamud. They were told: “Enjoy yourselves for a while.” 43 They transgressed against the command of their Lord. So a blast of sound struck them and they were unable to do anything but stare. 44 for they were unable even to rise, and could not defend themselves. 45 So were the People of Noah before them for they wickedly transgressed. 46
