The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ WHEN THAT which must come to pass [at last] comes to pass, 1 there is no denying its coming 2 abasing, exalting, 3 When the earth shall be shaken to its depths, 4 and the mountains crumbled 5 Becoming dust scattered abroad, 6 [on that Day,] then, shall you be [divided into] three kinds. 7 Companions of the Right, what are the Companions of the Right? 8 And the Companions of the Left Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Left Hand? 9 and the Outstrippers: the Outstrippers 10 they who were [always] drawn close unto God! 11 In gardens of tranquility; 12 A number of the earlier peoples, 13 And a few from those of later times. 14 Seated on couches wrought in gold and encrusted with precious stones, 15 facing one another. 16 Round about them shall go youths never altering in age, 17 with goblets, and ewers, and a cup from a spring 18 Unheady, uninebriating; 19 Also, they will be served with the fruits of their choice 20 Bird meats that they relish, 21 And [with them will be their] companions pure, most beautiful of eye, 22 like hidden pearls, 23 a recompense for that they laboured. 24 They will not hear any unnecessary or sinful talk 25 but only the saying: 'Peace, Peace' 26 And those on the Right Hand, Who will be those on the Right Hand? 27 (They will be) among thornless lote-trees, 28 and acacias flower-clad, 29 In shade long-extended, 30 By water flowing constantly, 31 and abundant fruits, 32 never-ending and unrestricted, 33 And [with them will be their] spouses, raised high: 34 Surely We have made them to grow into a (new) growth, 35 And made them virginal, 36 chastely amorous, 37 For the companions of the right [who are] 38

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
