Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Blessed is He in whose hands is the Kingdom and who has power over all things. 1 who created death and life that He might examine which of you is best in deeds, and He is the Almighty, the Forgiving, 2 The One Who created the seven heavens atop each other; do you see any discrepancy in the creation of the Most Gracious? Therefore lift your gaze – do you see any cracks? 3 Then look again and yet again, thy sight will return unto thee weakened and made dim. 4 We have adorned the lowest sky with lamps, and made them missiles against the devils, for whom We have prepared a torment of most intense fire. 5 And for those who disbelieved in their Lord, is the punishment of hell; and what a wretched outcome! 6 When they will be cast thereinto, they will hear thereof a braying even as it boileth up, 7 It almost bursts up with fury. Every time a group is cast therein, its keeper will ask: "Did no warner come to you?" 8 They will say, "Of course, a warner did come to us, but we belied him and we said, 'God has revealed nothing; you are in gross error.'" 9 And they will say: had we been wont to hearken or to reflect, we had not been among the fellows of the Blaze. 10 And they will admit their sin, so [it is] alienation for the companions of the Blaze. 11 Surely forgiveness and a mighty reward await those who fear Allah without seeing Him. 12 Whether you say a thing secretly or openly, He knows the innermost secrets of your hearts. 13 Should He not know,- He that created? and He is the One that understands the finest mysteries (and) is well-acquainted (with them). 14
