۞ The Inevitable Reality - 1 and what is the Resurrection Verifier? 2 And what will make thee realise what the Sure Reality is? 3 Thamud and 'Aad denied the Striking Calamity. 4 But the Thamud,- they were destroyed by a terrible Storm of thunder and lightning! 5 And as for 'Aad they were destroyed by a wind, furious, roaring. 6 He forced it upon them with strength, consecutively for seven nights and eight days – so you would see those people overthrown in it, like trunks of date palms fallen down. 7 So do you see any survivor among them? 8 Similarly, Pharaoh, and those before him, and the ruined villages, sinned 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, so He seized them with a seizure exceeding [in severity]. 10 Verily We! when the water rose, We bare you upon the traversing ark. 11 so that We might make it a reminder for you and so that attentive ears might retain it. 12 So when the Trumpet will be blown, with a sudden single blow. 13 and the earth and the mountains are carried aloft and are crushed to bits at one stroke, 14 On that day, the inevitable event will take place 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for it will that Day be flimsy, 16 And the angels will be on its sides, and eight angels will, that Day, bear the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 On that Day you shall be brought to judgment: not [even] the most hidden of your deeds will remain hidden. 18 Then as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Take, read my Record! 19 “I was certain that I will confront my account.” 20 So he shall be in a pleasing life 21 in a lofty paradise, 22 The fruits in bunches whereof will be low and near at hand. 23 “Eat and drink with pleasure – the reward of what you sent ahead, in the past days.” 24 But as for him who is given his record in his left hand, he will say: Oh, would that I had not been given my book 25 and neither known this my account! 26 Would that it (my death) had ended it all! 27 My wealth has not availed me, 28 and my authority has been destroyed' 29 (A command will be issued): “Seize him and shackle him, 30 then cast him in the Fire, 31 then in a chain of seventy cubits' length insert him! 32 they did not believe in the great God, 33 nor did he urge the feeding of the needy. 34 Today he has been left here friendless; 35 and has no food except the filth from the washing of wounds, 36 “Which none except the guilty shall eat.” 37
