Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
I swear by the emissary winds, sent one after another (for men's benefit), 1 And the winds that blow violently 2 by (the angels) spreading (the words of God) far and wide, 3 and the severally severing 4 and those hurling a reminder 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass. 7 When the stars shall be extinguished, 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 And when the time of the Noble Messengers arrives. 11 If one asks, "To which day have such calamitous events been postponed?" 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier peoples? 16 Thereafter We shall cause to follow them the latter ones. 17 Thus do We deal with the criminals. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you from a weak water, 20 Then We lodged you in a secure place (the womb) 21 For a known period (determined by gestation)? 22 Then We facilitated (your birth). How well do We calculate! 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, 25 for the living and the dead? 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 which neither provides (cooling) shade nor protection against the flames; 31 Verily it shall cast forth sparks like unto a castle. 32 So like golden camels." 33 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 34 This is a Day whereon they shall not be able to speak. 35 nor shall they be given permission, so that they can apologize. 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 that Day of Distinction [between the true and the false, when they will be told]: "We have brought you together with those [sinners] of olden times; 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 40
