Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 which then blow tempestuously 2 and by the scatterers scattering (rain) 3 Then separate them one from another, 4 And then by those that instil Remembrance into the hearts. 5 To cut off all excuses or to warn; 6 BEHOLD, all that you are told to expect will surely come to pass. 7 When the stars are extinguished, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 and when the mountains are scattered like dust, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 for what Day has this been appointed? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 And what will convey unto thee what the Day of Decision is! - 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 Then We will follow them with the later ones. 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 Which We placed in a depository safe. 21 for an appointed term? 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 Made We not the earth to be a housing 25 For the living and the dead. 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 30 which neither provides (cooling) shade nor protection against the flames; 31 Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, 32 So like golden camels." 33 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 34 That will be a Day when they shall not speak (during some part of it), 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 40
