Have you then seen him who turns his back? 33 And gives a little and (then) withholds. 34 What! Has he knowledge of the Unseen so that he can see? 35 Or has he not been told of what is in the scrolls of Moses, 36 And with Abraham who kept his word: 37 “That no bearer of a burden shall bear the burden of another, 38 and that man shall have only that for which he strives; 39 And that his striving shall soon be seen- 40 and that he shall then be fully recompensed, 41 that all things in the end shall return to God; 42 That it is He who makes you happy and morose, 43 And that He it is Who causes death and gives life- 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 of a sperm-drop, when it was cast forth, 46 and that upon Him is the second creation 47 And that it is He Who enricheth and preserveth property. 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius; 49 And that it is He Who destroyed the (powerful) ancient 'Ad (people), 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace [of them,] 51 And before them, the people of Nooh? Indeed they were more unjust and more rebellious than these! 52 He plunged the villages 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 Which of your Lord's benefits will you then dispute about? 55 This is a warning among the warnings of yore. 56 The near event draws nigh. 57 No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare. 58 Do you then find these tidings strange? 59 And laugh and not weep? 60 while you are thoughtless? 61 So make obeisance to Allah and serve (Him). ۩ 62
