Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 And those that revive by quickening, 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation, 5 To end all argument or to warn. 6 Surely what you are promised shall come to pass. 7 So when the stars are put out, 8 when heaven shall be split 9 When the mountains are scattered (to the winds) as dust; 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 For what Day was it postponed? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 How will you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 14 On that day, woe will be to those who have rejected God's revelations! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 Thus do We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 And We placed it in a firm lodging 21 till a known term decreed? 22 We determined; excellent determiners are We. 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 for both the living and the dead? 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 (It will be said unto them:) Depart unto that (doom) which ye used to deny; 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 “Which neither gives shade, nor saves from the flame.” 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 "As if there were (a string of) yellow camels (marching swiftly)." 33 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 34 This is the day they shall not speak 35 And permission shall not be given to them so that they should offer excuses. 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 This is the Day of Judgement. We have assembled you all together with past generations. 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 40
