Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
50 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah) before Q (Qaaf)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By (the angels) sent forth with the commands of God, 1 storming tempestuously 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 and the severally severing 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 excusing or warning, 6 Verily that which ye are promised is about to befall. 7 When the stars lose their light, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 And when the mountains are carried away as dust, 10 and the appointed time to bring the Messengers together arrives, (then shall the promised event come to pass). 11 For what day has the term [of all this] been set? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 Then did We follow them up with later ones. 17 thus do We deal with the culprits. 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)? 20 and place it in a secure place 21 For a known calculated term. 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 For the living and the dead, 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 unshading against the blazing flame 31 and throwing up sparks as huge as towers 32 So like golden camels." 33 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 34 This is a day in which they will not be able to speak. 35 And permission shall not be given to them so that they should offer excuses. 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 that Day of Distinction [between the true and the false, when they will be told]: "We have brought you together with those [sinners] of olden times; 38 So if you have a plot, use it against Me (Allah)! 39 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 40
