In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force! 2 For the living and the dead, 3 Then separate them, one from another, 4 and then cast (Allah's) remembrance (in people's hearts), 5 To clear or to warn. 6 Surely what you are promised shall come to pass. 7 So when the stars are obliterated 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 and when the mountains are scattered like dust, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 For what Day was it postponed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will convey unto thee what the Day of Decision is! - 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancient people 16 So shall We make later (generations) follow them. 17 Even thus shall We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 19 Did We not create you from a weak water, 20 And We placed it in a firm lodging 21 till a known term decreed? 22 We determined; excellent determiners are We. 23 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle. 25 for both the living and the dead? 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 Proceed to that (the Day of Judgment) which you have rejected. 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 As if they were yellowish [black] camels. 33 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 34 This is the day on which they shall not speak, 35 Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses. 36 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together. 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 40
