Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By oath of those that are sent, one after the other. (The verses of the Holy Qur’an or the angels or the winds). 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 and the rain-spreading winds, 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation, 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 and the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away as dust, 10 and when all the apostles are called together at a time appointed... 11 To what day is the doom fixed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 Thus do We deal with the criminals. 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 until an appointed time? 22 Thus did We Plan and how excellent is Our planning! 23 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected the revelations of God! 24 Have We not made the earth a housing 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And placed in it lofty and broad stablisers, and gave you sweet water to drink? 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 which neither provides (cooling) shade nor protection against the flames; 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 34 This is a Day whereon they shall not be able to speak. 35 Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses. 36 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 If now ye have any craft, try that craft upon Me. 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
