The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 you pay attention 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
