Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the Sky is cleft asunder; 1 and when the stars are scattered, 2 And when the seas are burst forth (got dried up); 3 And when the graves are overturned. 4 then everyone will know what he has sent ahead, and what he has left behind. 5 O man! what has beguiled you from your Lord, the Gracious one, 6 Who created you, fashioned you perfectly, and gave you due proportion; 7 in whatever form He pleased? 8 Nay! but you give the lie to the judgment day, 9 Surely there are guardians over you, 10 The honourable recorders. 11 They know whatsoever ye do. 12 Surely the virtuous shall be in Bliss, 13 But the wicked, indeed they shall be in the Fiery Furnace, 14 Which they will enter on the Day of Judgment, 15 and from it they shall never be absent. 16 What do you know what the Day of Recompense is? 17 Again, what do you know what the Day of Recompense is? 18 It is the day when no soul will have power to do the least for a soul, and God's alone will be done. 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
