The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Woe unto the defrauders: 1 those who demand a full measure from others 2 Whilst when they measure or weigh for them, give less. 3 Do they not think that they will be resurrected 4 (To be raised) for a Great Day? 5 A Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the Worlds? 6 Woe to them! Let them know that the records of the sinner's deeds are in Sijin. 7 And what will make you know what the Sijjin is? 8 A record [indelibly] inscribed! 9 Woe on that day to the rejecters, 10 who belied the Day of Recompense! 11 And none can deny it except every transgressor beyond bounds, (in disbelief, oppression and disobedience of Allah, the sinner!) 12 When Our communications are recited to him, he says: Stories of those of yore. 13 No indeed! The truth is that their hearts have become rusted on account of their evil deeds. 14 By no means! Verily on that Day from their Lord they will be shut out. 15 Then, verily they will indeed enter and taste the burning flame of Hell. 16 They will then be told: "This is what you had denied." 17 But, the Book of the righteous is in the 'Illiyoon. 18 and what will make you understand what the 'Illiyyin is? -- 19 A book inscribed, 20 To which bear witness those Nearest (to Allah). 21 The virtuous will surely be in bliss, 22 On thrones, watching. 23 You shall see upon their faces the glow of bliss. 24 They will be given a drink of pure wine whereon the seal [of God] will have been set, 25 With a sealing of musk, which those who aspire for the best should desire, -- 26 And mixed with water of Tasnim, 27 A spring whence those brought near (to Allah) drink. 28 Verily those who have sinned were wont at those who had believed to laugh, 29 when them passed them by winking at one another, 30 And when they returned to their own folk, they returned jesting; 31 And upon seeing the Muslims, they used to say, “Indeed they have gone astray.” 32 But they were not Sent to be guardians over them! 33 On the Day of Judgment, the believers will laugh at the disbelievers 34 Reclining on couches, looking on. 35 Are not the disbelievers paid (fully) for what they used to do? 36
