Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the heaven is cleft asunder. 1 When the planets are dispersed, 2 When the seas are poured forth, 3 And when the graves are ransacked, 4 A soul will know what it hath sent before (it) and what left behind. 5 O man! What hath made thee careless concerning thy Lord, the Bountiful, 6 Who created you, shaped you, and made you well-proportioned, 7 In whatever form He willed, He put you together. 8 No indeed; but you cry lies to the Doom; 9 And yet, verily, there are ever-watchful forces over you, 10 noble scribes 11 Knowing all what you may do. 12 Verily the pious shall be in Delight. 13 whereas the wicked will be in Hell; 14 roasting in it on the Day of Recompense 15 nor shall they ever be absent from it. 16 And what do you know – of what sort is the Day of Justice! 17 Again, what do you know – of what sort is the Day of Justice! 18 It is the day when no soul will have power to do the least for a soul, and God's alone will be done. 19
God the Almighty always says the truth.
