3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
And Nuh did certainly call upon Us, and most excellent answerer of prayer are We. 75 We delivered him and his household from the great calamity; 76 And We preserved his descendants. 77 and We left him thus to be remembered among later generations: 78 'Peace be upon Noah among all beings!' 79 Lo! thus do We reward the good. 80 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 81 Then the rest we overwhelmed in the Flood. 82 ۞ Of his party was Abraham. 83 Recall what time he came unto his Lord with a heart whole. 84 and when he said to his father and to his nation: 'What do you worship? 85 Is it a calumny, gods apart from God, that you desire? 86 What, then, do you think of the Sustainer of all the worlds?" 87 He cast a glance at the stars 88 And he said: "Verily, I am sick (with plague. He did this trick to remain in their temple of idols to destroy them and not to accompany them to the pagan's feast)." 89 But they turned their backs on him and went away. 90 Then he slipped unto their gods and said: eat ye not? 91 What is the matter with you, that you do not speak' 92 He then began striking them with his right hand, unseen by the people. 93 Then the people came toward him, hastening. 94 He answered: "Do you worship something that you [yourselves] have carved, 95 "While Allah has created you and what you make!" 96 They said, “Construct a building (furnace) for him, and then cast him in the blazing fire!” 97 They had contrived an evil plan against him, but We abased them all. 98 And he said: Lo! I am going unto my Lord Who will guide me. 99 My Lord! grant me of the doers of good deeds. 100 (In response to this prayer) We gave him the good news of a prudent boy; 101 And when he reached the age of traveling with him, he said: 'My son, while I was sleeping I saw that I shall slaughter (sacrifice) you, tell me what is your opinion' He replied: 'Father, do as you are ordered (by Allah). Allah willing, you shall find me one of those who are steadfast' 102 So when they had both submitted their wills (to Allah), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (for sacrifice), 103 We called to him, saying: 'O Abraham, 104 “You have indeed made the dream come true”; and this is how We reward the virtuous. 105 For this was obviously a trial- 106 We ransomed him with a great sacrifice, 107 And We left for him (a goodly remembrance) among generations (to come) in later times. 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 Thus do We reward the good-doers. 110 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 111 And We gave him the good news of Isaac, a Prophet and among the righteous ones. 112 We blessed him and Isaac: but of their progeny are (some) that do right, and (some) that obviously do wrong, to their own souls. 113
