And whatever strikes you of disaster - it is for what your hands have earned; but He pardons much. 30 You are not able to frustrate Him in the earth, nor do you have a guardian and a helper other than Allah. 31 Ships sailing in the ocean like ensigns are a sign of His. 32 and if He wills, He stills the wind, and they remain motionless on its back. Surely in that are signs for every man enduring, thankful. 33 or He may cause them to founder because of people's misdeeds, He pardons many of them, 34 and that those who dispute concerning Our signs may know they have no asylum. 35 Whatever you have been given is only a temporary provision of this life, but that which is with God is better and more lasting for those who believe and put their trust in their Lord; 36 And those who avoid heinous sins and indecencies, and when they are wroth forgive. 37 who have pledged their obedience to the Lord, who are steadfast in prayer, who conduct their affairs with consultation among themselves, who spend for the cause of God out of what We have given them, 38 and those who, when suffering a great injustice, seek to defend themselves. 39 And the retribution for an evil act is an evil one like it, but whoever pardons and makes reconciliation - his reward is [due] from Allah. Indeed, He does not like wrongdoers. 40 Those who successfully defend themselves after being wronged will not be questioned. 41 The way (to blame) is only against those who oppress men and revolt in the earth unjustly; these shall have a painful punishment. 42 But indeed if any show patience and forgive, that would truly be an exercise of courageous will and resolution in the conduct of affairs. 43
