The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
I swear by the mansions of the stars, 1 And the promised day, 2 And by the witness and that whereunto he beareth testimony, 3 Accursed be the People of the Ditch! 4 Fire supplied (abundantly) with fuel, 5 when they were seated over it 6 fully conscious of what they are doing to the believers, 7 Against these they had no grudge except that they believed in Allah, the Most Mighty, the Most Praiseworthy, 8 God to whom belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth, and God is Witness over everything. 9 Those who persecute the believers, men and women, and then have not repented, there awaits them the chastisement of Gehenna, and there awaits them the chastisement of the burning. 10 Those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for them await gardens underneath which rivers flow; that is the great triumph. 11 The vengeance of God is terribly severe. 12 Surely it is He who originates, and brings again, 13 And He is the Forgiving, and the Loving. 14 Master of the Honourable Throne. 15 Doer (without let) of all that He intends. 16 Has the story of the armies reached you, 17 Of Pharaoh and (the tribe of) Thamud? 18 And yet, they who are bent on denying the truth persist in giving it the lie: 19 While Allah encompasses them from behind. 20 In fact it (what they deny) is the Noble Qur’an. 21 (Inscribed) in a Tablet Preserved! 22
