Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Blessed be He in Whose hands is Dominion; and He over all things hath Power;- 1 Who hath created life and death that He may try you which of you is best in conduct; and He is the Mighty, the Forgiving, 2 Who has created the seven heavens one above another, you can see no fault in the creations of the Most Beneficent. Then look again: "Can you see any rifts?" 3 Turn your eyes again and again. Your gaze turns back dazed and tired. 4 And we have, (from of old), adorned the lowest heaven with Lamps, and We have made such (Lamps) (as) missiles to drive away the Evil Ones, and have prepared for them the Penalty of the Blazing Fire. 5 And for those who disbelieve in their Lord there awaits the chastisement of Gehenna -- an evil homecoming! 6 When they are cast therein, they will hear the (terrible) drawing in of its breath even as it blazes forth, 7 Almost bursting with fury: Every time a Group is cast therein, its Keepers will ask, "Did no Warner come to you?" 8 They will say, "Of course, a warner did come to us, but we belied him and we said, 'God has revealed nothing; you are in gross error.'" 9 They will further say: "Had we but listened or used our intelligence, we should not (now) be among the Companions of the Blazing Fire!" 10 and thus they will confess their sin; far from God's mercy are the inmates of Hell. 11 Those who fear their Lord in secret will receive forgiveness and a great reward. 12 Whether you say a thing secretly or openly, He knows the innermost secrets of your hearts. 13 How could it be that He who has created [all] should not know [all]? Yea, He alone is unfathomable [in His wisdom,] aware! 14
